This beach blufftop site is on the North Shore of Maui.  The trade winds here are strong and constant,  world class wind & kite surfing.   We strapped into a four seat doorless helicopter to film the site from the sea hovering between Ho'okipa and Jaws surfbreaks.  To the West, here comes the cavalry as a squadron of windsurfers follow and one by one launch up at us thinking we are surf photographers. Not to disappoint, we played along cameras rolling.

We designed the home in a shallow 'L' and sited it to shelter the wind, creating a calm Lanai overlooking an infinity edged pool against the ocean horizon and views of the Kapalua headlands to the West.

Views, Wind speed, direction and sun angle research played a significant role in the shape and siting of this residence in the Haiku area of Maui.
